Health and wellbeing 'as important as employee engagement'
Employers are beginning to realise that the health and wellbeing of their workers is just as important as employee engagement according to Gallup
Staff who have high levels of wellbeing have been found to be better performing and cost less to insure, according to Tom Rath of research organisation Gallup.
Writing for the American Society for Training and Development, Mr Rath explains that companies across the globe will benefit from better employee engagement by paying more direct attention to the health and wellbeing of their staff.
He went on to explain that firms can now assess exactly how their company influences the wellbeing of its workers, and how this affects employee engagement.
"As a number of leading organisations are already learning, the ability to show employees and customers precisely how your organisation affects their lives may be the leadership currency of the next century," Mr Rath notes.
Another way of boosting employee engagement is by using sustainable green buildings, according to research from CB Richard Ellis Malaysia.
