Smartphones help boost employee engagement
Giving employees smartphones could help to boost employee engagement. Mobile technology allows staff in small firms to remain responsive to queries through calls, texts and emails outside of the office, according to T-Mobile.
The UK mobile phone network says workers expect the same technology at work as they have in their personal lives.
Martin Lyne, director of small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) marketing at T-Mobile, said: "Mobile technology is becoming increasingly important.
"[It] can also provide information that would normally require a call back to the office, such as Google Maps, addresses, latest deals, contracts et cetera."
Small firms need their staff to be flexible, whether in the office or on the road, he added. US companies can now use SMS messaging to interact with their customers.
Clickatell has launched a new package featuring a mobile messaging medium for small firms. The technology helps companies to reach and engage with their target market.
